Community Roles & Permissions

YeahApp uses a two-layer role system. Every user has a platform-level role that governs access across the entire product, and a separate community-level role for each community they belong to.

How Roles Are Assigned

When a community is created — the creator automatically becomes the Owner.

When a new member joins — they are assigned the Member role by default.

To change a member's role:

  1. Go to Members in the community dashboard
  2. Find the member
  3. Select their current role and choose a new one
  4. Save

Only Owners and Admins can promote or demote members.

⚠️ There can only be one Owner per community. The Owner role cannot be reassigned through the members panel.
